Launch of KTM Duke 250 in India: 23 February 2017
The new KTM Duke 250 was revealed last year. This 248.8 cc bike also has the same design like the new Duke 125, Duke 200 and Duke 390 has. Earlier, the Austrian company doesn’t have any plans to launch the Duke 250 in India. However, some rumours said that this 248.8 cc bike has got BS-IV certification recently and hence KTM has decided to launch this bike in India. The new Duke 250 will comes with all new 2017 updated version which includes all new design, features, mechanicals and other aspects.
The new 2017 KTM Duke 250 will be launching on 23rd February 2017, along with updated version of Duke 200 and Duke 390. This is the first time that a 250cc bike from KTM will be sold in India. By launching a 248.8 cc bike, Bajaj is planning to capture large share of the market and wants its customers to be within the brand, whatever their choice might be. With the new 2017 Duke 200, Duke 250 and Duke 390, KTM will able to serve different kinds of customers and have three products at a price difference of around INR 50,000. And if we include the new updated version of RC series, then the product range will increase to five and this gives the customer more options as they have three options from street naked and two options from sport fairing sections.
Design and Styling
The new 2017 KTM Duke 250 comes with an aggressive front design. It doesn’t have the split headlamp design as on the new Duke 390, but still the headlamp outline looks superb, as it surround by LED and a halogen headlamp. The seat design is also updated along with a new redesigned tail end. The new 2017 Duke 250 will not get the TFT screen like on the other bigger KTMs.
The new 2017 KTM Duke 250 has a 248. 8cc, four-stroke single cylinder engine. The new engine is water cooled engine and is made available with the current engine. There are no changes in the power output or even in torque. As earlier, it produces a maximum power of 31 bhp at 9000 rpm and peak torque of 24 Nm at 7500 rpm. KTM has made some minor tweaks to provide better performance. It also has the same six-speed gearbox transmission.
Like on it’s other KTM siblings, this new 2017 KTM Duke 250 has the same light tubular trellis frame with bolt-on sub-frame. In the suspension section, the front has telescopic fork and the rear has monoshock. The bike weights around 139 kilograms. The 2017 Duke 250 has dual-channel ABS and four-piston calliper. It has 17-inch wheels and 110 mm of front and 150 mm of rear tyres.
The new 2107 KTM Duke 250 is expected to provide a mileage of around 30 km/l in city area. On the highway, it is expected to provide around 35 km/l. All this mileage figures are depends on how is your riding style and conditions.
This bike surly will be a great option for those who want to upgrade from Duke 200 but don’t want to go for Duke 390.
