Launch of Bajaj Dominar 400 in India: December 2016

The Indian automobile maker – Bajaj has recently launched its new bike named as “Bajaj Dominar 400” with a starting price of INR 1.36 lakhs, raising the standards by nearly two times the current amount of performance on the offer in its overall lineup. The new Dominar 400 has a totally different approach among its all other Bajaj bikes till date, providing the rider with loads of power and at the same time provide good amount of relaxation.

Losing the name Pulsar from its branding would not make any difference to it on the road from its class. Bajaj Dominar 400 has a sense of exclusivity with its high spec body and an optional dual channel ABS variant at a price tag of INR 1.50 lakhs. Bajaj clearly shows the intention to rule the 400 cc segment as you cannot even buy a decent 250 cc bike in this price range where they have placed this ‘Big Bike for Big Boys’.

Dimensions and Weight

The new Bajaj Dominar 400 dimensions measures as 2156 mm in length, 813 mm in width and 1112 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 1453 mm and kerb weights is 182 kg. It has a 157 mm of ground clearance and carries a 13 liter fuel tank. The seat height for the Dominar 400 has not yet been officially revealed.

Design and Style

The new Bajaj Dominar 400 can be clearly differentiated by its unique design and styling. Unlike others, the Dominar 400 comes with a sharp LED headlight with dark accents around itself. The slightly raised windscreen comes with a negligible fairing making it one of the most attractive options in terms of styling. The tank section area remains calm and flows effortlessly and perfectly to the rider’s seat. The flow is so good that no other motorcycle from the category seems so natural as the Dominar 400. The expended portions of the tank are good enough to complete the package and seal the deal. Bajaj Auto has given full importance to all the parts and to those simple factors also like back-lit buttons and its automatic headlight makes it uber cool in the dark time.

The rear half has a totally different story. Unlike in all other motorcycles, where the pillion has to climb to the top and grab a seat, but in new Bajaj Dominar 400, there is a gentle heap from front to the rear seat. The tail completes in the midway and there is a plastic number plate holder and a mudguard which ends the things in the same smooth manner. The alloy wheels are super cool and matches perfectly to the nature of the bike. The short exhaust has been perfectly placed while the silver swing-arm was a good move. The bike looks massive with its thick tyres and low stance which even Bajaj Auto is comparing with the proud stance of a Lion.

Instrument Console

The new Bajaj Dominar 400 comes with a completely new instrument console. The one is within the fuel tank which is slightly rectangular with the indicator lights in the compartment while the second screen is the actual instrument console, contains the typical cruiser style functionality along with some modern looks. The primary screen shows speedometer, tachometer and odometer. The unit comes with a base dark shade while the readout value are displayed in white.
